I Spy with My Little Eye

Something that is...Quo by ORLY! I was at Pharmaprix (the Quebecois name for Shopper's Drug Mart) the other day and I happened to look down and hidden away on a bottom shelf were these beauties. I do not own any ORLY polish but I am dying to try the formula, so when I heard they were making it more accessible to Canadians by introducing it under Quo, I got pretty excited. I'm sort of hesitant about the $10 CAN price tag though, especially since there were only five shades out, but we'll see what's to come. I snapped this pic with my blackberry when the assistant was helping someone else because I just needed to get a shot of these. They look really pretty..has anyone tried them yet?
Keep an eye out for these soon at a Shopper's or Pharmaprix near you!

Nice Day for a Sorbet

Hello! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend, I know I did. May or may not have purchased new polish..(probably did.) This was on my nails a few weeks ago, it's Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Sassy Sorbet, I know it looks like a TOTAL dupe of OPI Hot & Spicy in the bottle but unfortunately I don't have my bottle of H&S here at college with me. It kills me that I've never done a side by side comparison.

It's probably me being a polish snob, but this just feels cheap to me. It's a really nice colour though, I hope I can find some nail art to use it in because I don't think I'll be wearing it alone again.

The One That Got Away

Literally. The One That Got Away. I remember when I first saw the OPI Katy Perry collection last year I was like "meh." This summer while I was at my local Cosmoprof I saw Not Like The Movies was in the clearance section for something like $4.50 so I grabbed it and I loved it when I put it on. The rest of the polishes in the collection didn't do much for me when I saw the swatches. So the other day I was at my ex-roommate's new apartment and I noticed her (small and relatively boring) nail polish collection, and there was one shade that was standing out: The One That Got Away. I borrowed it from her and I have had it on since last Saturday until a few hours ago. That is almost a week, people! I haven't had a nail polish on this long for months, that is how gorgeous this colour is. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

NoLW

What, you don't know what NoLW means? Nails of Last Week, people. It's a new acronym I just made up, I am pretty sure it's going to be the next big thing. When I returned to university across the country from where I live, I got a nice surprise when I unpacked the boxes that I had put in storage for the whole summer: nail polishes! Turns out I left a few here while I was away, and Sally Hansen Hi-Definition in Laser was one of them!
The polishes from this collection have been described as intense duochromes, but Laser which flashes between blue and purple, did not show its true beauty in my pictures. This polish is pretty sheer, I was worried after one coat that there was a good reason I had left it in a storage box over the summer, but with three coats it was the dense glittery blue I was hoping for. I have seen Kayla Shevonne swatch the HD polishes over black, and I am dying to test this shade out over a few different polishes. Here are some pictures of Sally Hansen Hi-Definition in Laser.

Somewhat blurry, but the best photo to show the colour of the polish. More pics after the jump!

Hi, I'm Nikki

After a few weeks of not having internet in my apartment, we finally got it set up yesterday and I'm ready to start writing! I have definitely had a lot of nice manicures in my time, but this one I did for the second week of school this year might possible be my favourite. ever. (so far!), and that's saying something. I got the idea from a picture I saw on tumblr, but since then I haven't been able to find it so I did my best working from memory to reproduce this.

They're so simple, but they're still so pretty and feminine. The first photo is in the shade and the second was taken in the sun. For this mani I used two coats of OPI Ski Teal we Drop, and China Glaze Liquid Leather along with Konad plate m57 for the pattern and the tips, topped off with a coat of Seche Vite. Aren't they so pretty? I was heartbroken when I removed this polish, but you can see tip wear in the second picture.

Thanks for reading my first post!

Fresh Year, Fresh Beginnings... Fresh Manicures!

What does 1 nail freak + 1 nail freak = ?
A nail polish blog of course!

Hello and welcome to Cutie-cles! A blog started by two students both passionate about nails and everything to do with them. You'll see swatches, reviews, nail art, tutorials, and comparisons posted and written by myself (Mandy) and Nikki. To kick off the blog and the beginning of the school year, let's start with a fun color!

Twilight NOX Nail Polish in the color Poseidon (3 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite) A light blue creme that has major shine even without putting topcoat on. You wouldn't expect this random Twilight polish to be any good, but actually the whole collection is pretty impressive. I got mine at my local London Drugs, but they've discontinued the line now. So the only place to buy them would be online: http://twilightbeauty.com/noxtwilightnailpolish.aspx

Thanks for reading!
